Cortijo la Fuente is originally an Andalusian country house in the Nature Reserve of Maro Cerro Gorgo, on the hills overlooking Playa del Cañuelo, at 10km east of Nerja. The house has witnessed the time when all the properties here were inhabited and the land farmed. Today, it is the place from where anyone can marvel at the unique beauty of this region.

In Cortijo la Fuente all the old-style elements are still in place, as a conscious effort has been made to retain the original character of the area, despite all the modernisation that has been carried out. The pots and jugs which were used for carrying water can still be found in the house and the old water reservoir ('alberca') has been fitted into a cozy secluded swimming pool. The lounge, formally an adjacent kitchen, is now fully part of the property.

La Fuente is first and foremost a family house. It offers all necessary comfort items to spend a pleasant and relaxing holiday, without unnecessary gadgets. One can still appreciate WiFi, dish-washer and well equipped kitchen. Outside, the many terraces, garden, pool and 2 hectares grounds of the property offer nearly unlimited space to enjoy the nature and the sun in this protected Nature Reserve.
